Mont Cambrai Retaining Wall
Contract: Mont Cambrai Retaining Wall
Client: Beaumont Structural Consultants
Value: £38k
Duration: 7 Weeks
This project involved the sectional clearance and rebuilding of a 3 metre high granite retaining wall after it had failed.
To enable the works to be carried out, the removal of approximately 300 tonnes of soil was required to create a safe working area in a sloping cotils, followed by the construction of a reinforced concrete wall.
New granite face work was then constructed utilising recycled material from the original wall to maintain a consistent finish with the existing. Additional drainage was installed behind the new wall to minimise the risk of the wall failing in the future.
